Setting Things Up

Last Wednesday, Austin and I talked with Andrew after school about all of the details with our lift off. He told us to get in contact with a local power lifter named Charles Johnson and talk to him about making this a legit meet. He host a lot of meets at a local gym in Binghamton. If it goes through to be a legit meet, equipment would be brought to the school, the weight room would be used as a warm up space and the equipment would be brought to the small gym. If things go wrong and we can't have an "official" meet then we will have an "unofficial" meet but will the same rules and regulations as the real one. Regardless of which route we go, we want to still try to get local business' to donate a set amount per lb lifted in a certain lift. Also another idea we had for both was possibly having t-shirts to buy at the event. We will keep updating on how things go in the next couple of days.

  1. I like that you two are coming together with something that is really in the works now, it's neat seeing it all unfold. I think your ideas about alternative ways to raise money are important. Advertising and publicity is another really important thing that I'm sure you've started to consider.

    1. Yes we have considered advertising. Once we have a set date and time we planned on getting an announcement in at our school. Also we wanted to make flyers and give them to local gyms and make posts on social media to spread the word more. If we get Charles Johnson to help with this, that will be a big publicity boost.
